Virus Infection!

There's a virus spreading across the Napoleonic wargamers world, the "Perry's virus". I have noticed that in many of the blogs I frequently follow, many gamers out there are focusing a lot of painting effort  to the minis of the famous twin brothers, and probably with reason as their 28mm plastic range offers unparalelled price-quality relation in the market.

I have not been inmune the virus, and after playing a few battles with Lasalle (see the posts here and here) and being highly inspired by my visit to the Army Museum in Paris) I decided that it was time to jump on this wagon too.


Not an easy decision though, as I have tied in the past painting large-sized napo minis (25mm) with not very good  results. Today I introduce my first two French Line Infantry battalions and although not as high in painting quality as others that I've seen over the past weeks, I think they will look enough nice on the table.

I decided to put the figures in individual bases, in consideration to some very negative experiece in the past when my gaming group decied to play a new set of rules and I has to rebase everything. Also, I expect to start playing the Toofatlardies skirmish rules set Sharp Practice some time this year,  therefore another reason to have them individually based.

I'm just finishing now the Voltiguers but after such a good experience, I have bought another infantry box (planning to paint another Line and a Light battalion with them), the plastic Dragoons, 1 artillery piece and a few metal colonels on horse.
