TooFatLardies Xmas Special Out!

When do you know that Christmas is around the corner' When TooFatLardies issues its bi-annual Special magazine. This year is even better for two reasons: you have 126 pages of content and (more important) includes our Spanish Civil War campaign for Chain of Command!!... and all this stuff at the princely sum of 6 bucks!!

Jokes aside, the issue this year is spectacular, with wide variety of articles covering most of the popular TFL rule sets (CoC, IABSM, Dux, Sharp Practice). And some important headline news: the main project for 2015 is a Coc ultra-modern covering the most recent conflicts in the War Against Terrorism. Clearly not a favourite period of mine at all... but I also said the same about Vietnam, until Charlie Don't Surf convinced me about the contrary.

TFL Summer Special Available

Probably you know already (I've been travelling these days, so I'm arriving late to the party) but the biannual TFL Special (summer issue) is now available to buy at the unbeatable price of GBP 6!!

TooFatLardies Special is Out

An early-bird issue this time, TooFatLadies released yesterday its biannual publication Special. I can agree on the "special" but hardly on the "summer" in the title, as the bloody winter has decided to stay for much more longer than usual in Spain (still below 20ºC!!).

And what do you get? Well for 6 bucks (less than a breakfast at Starbucks in the UK) a total 130 pages of really good and high-quality content (see below) for your games with the TFL rule sets,

Two articles that I read last night were outstanding: a campaign with the British XXX Corps in the race to Arnhem (suitable for IABSM)  and a wonderful analysis of the British tactics in the last year of the Great War (for Mud & Blood).

Looking for Arthur

Browsing in Amazon this afternoon, I just bumped into this book about Dark Age Britain recently published. Written by Guy Halsall, a serious, reliable and knowledgeable historian who also writes a most interesting and "heretic" blog, it really looks promising for those interested in the period (...and struggling to play Dux Britanniarium one of these days!!!).

Dux Britanniarium: Household Guards

Slowly but surely, my Romano British army is progressing. Since the end of the holidays my painting time has diminished dramatically, with only some short spots available over the weekends. Yesterday I spent most of the day at home, recovering from a bad late-summer cold (which left plenty of time for painting, as none in my family dare to get to close to me...) and today I concluded the Household Guard section,  the elite team of the army. Miniatures from Gripping Beast and shiled transfers from LBM.

Dux Britanniarium - First Levy Unit

A second quick update on my holidays painting project. Now fully concentrated in painting my Romano British army for Dux Britanniarum, a photo of my first levy unit. The models are Gripping Beast (a DB starter army) and the shields, transfers from Little Big Men. The second and third units of levies are currently on the table.

Dux Britanniarum: pre-order period open

Exciting news this afternoon as the TooFatLardies Yahoo Group confirmed that Dux Britanniarum, the new Arthurian period rules-set, is to be launched by July 30th as initially planned. The TFL website is now open for pre-orders. You have two options, the hard-copy only (GBP 20) and the "bundle" (GBP25) including in addition to the hard copy book, a 62 cards-set, a tablet-navigating electrconic version (or a simple pdf, at the buyer's choice) and a special Arthur 28mm figure.
