M 113 in Vietnam - WIP
A very inspiring post in the TooFatLardies Yahoo Group a few days ago prompted me to rescue from the painting mountain a couple of M 113 models in 28mm acquired sometime ago to play with Charlie Don't Surf: one of the group's regular contributors posted this link to a fabulous collection of original photos mainly of M 113 in action in Vietnam.
So I put aside some of my increasingly scarce free time to paint the models, looking to put them on the table at the autumn-winter playing season at the club. A few photos from the first model, still in a "work in progres" status.
The Assault Group. Once I received the order form TAG the following steps will be to add the 0.5 cal HMG and to do some heavy weathering work in the model.
The second model is the ACAV version to be used as a weapons platform in the game. Sitll at a very early stage: just glued the tracks and put the first layer of paint on it, so no photos at this time.
Now, one problem I'm having is to identify a manufacturer of water trasnfer slides for this period. At this time I have used some US Army standard white stars and the vehicle's name from a IIWW set. But the serial numbers are of no use and I also need the yellow circles signs with the weight of the vehicle tupical from this era. I keep on searching but if any reader can direct me in the right direction, I will really appreciate
